Smiles: A Poem from Legacy: After Porridge

Smiles

If my smiles are painted on,

As you say they are,

Then wet paint would colour your lips when you kissed me.

I will admit, though,

That my skin sparkles and shines

When your lips touch mine,

Like the aura of a fresh coat.

– An excerpt from Legacy: After Porridge

The sequel to Porridge: A Memoir, a book about life after death, progress and moving forward after loss.
